Lorna Kay is a Kansas City–based singer, songwriter, and DJ whose music echoes the spirit of classic country—tender, honest, and full of soul. Her songs explore themes of yearning, self-exploration, and quiet battles—offering listeners an honest, personal lens into universal emotions.

Deeply inspired by legends like Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton, Sammi Smith, and Skeeter Davis—as well as modern voices like Sierra Ferrell and Kacey Musgraves—Lorna blends vintage country roots with a fresh, soulful perspective. Her self-released debut EP, Lorna Kay, arrived in September 2025, marking her emergence as a songwriter with a voice that feels both timeless and entirely her own.

For the past eight years, she’s been a leader in Kansas City’s country scene, performing monthly at Honky Tonk Tuesday at The Ship—a beloved night that’s grown into a vibrant community gathering. Lorna is backed by her energetic four-piece band: Mike Stover (pedal steel, guitars, vocals), Justin Rogers (bass), Sam Cronenberg (drums, vocals), and Beau Brayfield (guitar). The group found its full stride in early 2025 and has been playing together ever since.

As Lorna Kay’s Country Club, she’s been DJing for over a decade, spinning everything from ‘80s and ‘90s deep cuts to honky tonk heartbreakers—drawing from a crate full of favorites and showcasing her deep love for the genre.

Whether she’s singing under the spotlight or behind her turntables, Lorna brings heart, history, and high style everywhere she goes.
